CLOVER

Clover has always been agreeable and calm. She has never faltered and done well throughout hand-feeding, then weaning. At that very significant time, she was only 280 grams. She has always been affectionate and happy.

At approximately 4 weeks of age, Clover's front left leg began to splay, soon followed by the left hind. Corrective measures were attempted (see "Bracing a Bunny with Splay Leg" by Dr. Dana Krempels) to no avail. X-Rays for Clover were also taken on November 5, which found, astonishingly, that Clover suffered the very same genetic condition as Gemma to a lesser severity.

Clover is not hampered by her condition and can binky and hop just as well and quickly as her "normal" brother and sister. She loves to cuddle, flop and evade capture when she is out playing. She is happy-go-lucky and like all the babies, loves people and other animals.

Please feel free to view Clover's X-Rays from the November 5, 2008 and March 11, 2009.

The latter x-rays gave rescue volunteers some disturbing news. Her tibia is fragile and half of normal size, increasing the risk of a fracture significantly and a portion of her spine is fused. She has some pain due to a nerve pinch at the base of the neck due to deformed vertebrae. Her quality of life is currently normal, however she remains a Resident rabbit until her prognosis is more clear. Clover will be reassessed at approximately 10-12 months of age.
